Check out this story on Engadget. It seems a town in North Carolina got fed up with their cable and Internet providers and formed a public utility to provide the services. So now they have a better service at a much cheaper price. But it seems this could cut into Time Warner's profits so they have begun lobbying the state legislature to outlaw such a consumer friendly service.
